Maybe I am reading too much into this. Maybe I am seeing things that aren’t there. I wish that I had something profound to say to you. I would love to tell you that there are things I would like to see happen in this congress. I would like to tell you about something that you could improve on. Okay, okay, the title is a little presumptuous. They aren’t at my command, but they are doing something I asked them to do back in June. In a state where roughly 67% of the land is owned by the Federal Government, we need to start claiming our state sovereignty. We need to get our property [...] When I first read the headline, Legislators’ Survey Are Not Exactly Unbiased, I couldn’t help but think: “pot meet kettle.” I haven’t spoken much lately about a faulty Deseret News poll. Not because they haven’t had them, but for the most part they were uninteresting. Oh, they have gotten slightly better, but still they are skewed. I met with a couple of legislators this past week. For the past several months I have been struggling regarding which candidate I should support for Senate. This has partly contributed to my silence on this blog. I am still struggling. That’s why I am excited to find a candidate I can support. I don’t listen to the radio much any more. I just find myself too busy. However, I have heard several ads recently asking me to encourage my legislator to increase the tax on tobacco. These ads are apparently from the American Cancer Society. However, in the ad they say they are with the Protect Utah [...] It’s about the only thing in the news today. Jon Hunstman was sworn in as the U.S. Ambassador to China, and Gary Herbert was sworn in as the 17th Governor of the State of Utah. In my opinion this is a win-(hopefully)win situation for Utah. Not to point the blame at one individual, but as and example, I would like to look back to the Clinton Administration. With one stroke of his mighty pen he created the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. It was done under the guise of the Antiquities acts. His motive was the protection of the wilderness. |
