Fabulous Farding Friday: How I Spent My Summer.

Well, my wife woke me up at 5:30 this morning and told me to start cleaning the house, because she was going to have a baby. Now, I don’t know much about child birth, so I just go along with it. I mean, I am sure that there is some connection to a clean house and child birth, but I just don’t get it. After all, by the time Mom and baby get home the house will be dirty for the four other kids and the slob of a husband that lives there.

But after an hour of dishes and a quick shower, I decide to check my blog and see if anyone has commented. Good, they have. I must reply. What…. I can’t…. Oh, grandma is here. I guess we need to go. Maybe grandma’s coming over to watch the kids has something to do with the clean house. Nah…. Couldn’t be.

At the hospital, we mostly just sat around and waited. My wife kept screaming every couple of minutes and wanted more drugs. I am not sure that is the best example to be showing the newborn, after all they are very impressionable. But, if the doctor says it’s okay. Hook her up.

So, two hours later, a very small, very handsome, 9lb. 4oz., 21 inch baby boy, who in my opinion looks like my maternal grandfather, was born. Now, don’t worry everyone, that father is just fine. He didn’t pass out, and he managed to continue eating his bacon double cheese burger while the doctor cleaned out the nose and throat of the baby.

Although nothing has been officially stated, and something could change, Mom and dad both agree that the name will be Zachary R Grant. Thus, thinking back to the contest that was offered up, that means that I win. Yeah. I always wanted a my very own Gazelem t-shirt. Too bad the t-shirt cost so much that I can’t afford flowers for the mom. I guess, she will just have to deal with it.
